For cyclists, the house is situated in a quiet neighborhood beside the Amelia River-To-Sea Trail, which connects the Atlantic coast beachfront to the island's western riverfront.
This lovely pool house is set up with all the comforts of home and is specifically designed to be more handicapped accessible. With their own loved ones in mind, the owners have made certain changes to make their house more comfortable for individuals in wheelchairs. A large portion of the house is wheelchair accessible, including the walk-in shower, mudroom, bedrooms, kitchen/living/dining area, and pool area. (Note that the entrances do require a slight step or lift up. As shown in pictures, the door frame is slightly risen off the ground. Most guests are fine but we can provide a spare ramp if you believe that would be important to you or a loved one who uses a wheelchair. Also, at this time, there are no grab bars near the toilet or in the walk-in shower.)
The kitchen is fully equipped and opens up to living/dining area. The home's open floor plan is wonderful for entertaining and spending time with family/friends. All bedrooms have flat screen TVs . Enjoy time outside in the unheated, screened-in pool or private backyard that backs up to a small pond. We do require that children be ages 8 or older because of the private pool.
This home is centrally located on Amelia Island and is convenient to beach, downtown Fernandina, and many shops and restaurants. Located in a quiet neighborhood, this home is the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway or longer stay.
